Delhi girl @ IIM-A gets flu

Published by at

AHMEDABAD: An IIM-A student who tested positive for swine flu at Civil Hospital returned to her hometown in Delhi even before the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health officials could reach her.

The first year management student was taken to the hospital on August 13 as she was running high fever. She tested positive for swine flu, but rushed to Delhi even as AMC officials tried to help her out in the treatment.

The 12 girls who stay in the dorm in which the student was living have been asked to stay isolated.

Meanwhile, AMC officials said, "Before leaving, she did not seek permission of the authorities concerned. Because of this, the possibility of her spreading infection during travel is high.''

Refusing to comment on the matter, the director of the institute said, "AMC authorities have been informed and we have taken all precautionary measures.''
