Medical student attempts suicide

A 26-year-old youth, who is doing his internship at the Civil Hospital, attempted suicide at his residence in the Shahibaug area of Ahmedabad on Monday.

The man was identified as Vivek Patel, a student of B J Medical College,He had migrated to Ahmedabad from Surat for his study.

According to the police, Vivek slit his wrists following a persistent migraine problem.

He is now undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital.

The Investigating Officer, Inspector J N Parmar, said, “After preliminary investigation, we have come to know that he had severe migraine problem and he was reportedly under depression due to his illness.”

The police also stated that he was staying alone in the city and reportedly had psychological problems.
